Starting tomorrow, you're going to see a number of changes in the weekly Scene. The most obvious, first of all: you're not going to see the paper until tomorrow. As the City Paper puts out its final Thursday issue in the a.m.--grab it, it's a collectible--the Scene from now on will hit the streets on Thursday instead of Wednesday. You'll also start to see a lot of familiar faces in our pages again, along with many of the Thursday City Paper's most popular recurring features. Welcome back, Walter Jowers and Lindsay Ferrier. (Wait 'til you see who's coming back Oct. 1.) And more news. And sports. As for the look of the paper...why spoil the surprise? Look for the Scene tomorrow on the stands, and let us know what you think.

I think you're onto something there, Bobo. I think we can expect to read something from Karl's biggest crush.

Just when I was thinking the scene couldn't get any worse.......

Hummmm ... let's see:
Slick paper (high probability)
Less use of the word "fuck" (also highly probable)
Some sort of corporate/government boosterism (guaranteed)
Agnst from advertisers, especially restaurants and weekend venues who depend on the Scene, that they will now "lose a day" (also guaranteed)
Wednesday is Scene Day. It's always been Scene Day. Thursday is not Scene Day. Thursday is ... Thursday.

Daniel,
The Scene always had a Thursday date on the cover and began coverage with Thursday events. It just always came out early.

It's eyewash and it hurts the advertisers.

Yeah, grab a copy of that last Thursday City Paper, keep it in pristine condition for 20 or 30 years, and then it might be worth twice what you paid for it.
