James William Wright, a National Healthcare Corp. nurse's aide who was allowed to molest the elderly in a Bristol nursing home for nearly a decade, has finally been indicted and arrested, according to a story in today's Tennessean.

We broke the story first back in early April (Unsafe In Their Beds). After a 2007 Bristol PD investigation turned up nothing, Wright remained a free man -- even after we outed him with some pretty damning evidence in the aforementioned cover story.

It gives Pith a warm, fuzzy feeling to know that this scumbag may be about to receive some seriously overdue justice. Cheers!

its outrageous that this went on for 7 years without NHC lifting a finger to fire this guy after multiple reports of sexual abuse. why did nhc try to cover it up?

This terrible tragedy should come as no suprise to anyone who has followed the miserable state of care in homes run by NHC. Google "nhc lawsuit" and learn about their history of negligence and abuse.

This probably won't stop Gerald Coggins from taking NHC's proposed law capping court ordered damages awarded to victims of NHC nursing homes to the state Capitol in January.
The real question will be which politician is going to sponsor it?

Can get in touch with the warm fuzzies, Pith. Now, if only we can get to watch our slovenly governmental servants reaping a harvest of like incomptitude themselves. You know, every good turn deserves another.

At what point did I claim total responsibility for his arrest? But the VA attorney general did begin investigating this guy because someone sent him the story. So...
