Crazy Turned Up Loud at Corker Town Hall: Did You Know Obama Thinks White People Are Terrorists and Wants to Abort Their Children?

Posted by Jeff Woods on Thu, Aug 13, 2009 at 7:44 AM

The president thinks white people are terrorists, and "you could very well end up on a list for a mandatory abortion." Did you know that? That's one of the viewpoints expressed at Bob Corker's town hall meeting yesterday near Memphis. There was also a man with a rubber chicken. From WREG's report:
A woman carrying a baby stood to tell the crowd about her husband and five children. The crowd cheered after she said her husband works hard to pay for his family's own health insurance. "Because he's white, because he considers the Constitution the law of the land, we are now considered terrorists in our own country. " She expressed concerns that health care reform could lead to nurses coming into homes, forcing women to have abortions. "We're considered domestic terrorists, everyone in this room, in the eyes of our own government, if someone gives the word we could all be rounded up," she concluded as the crowd cheered again. "A bill that gives the government the ability to come into people's homes ... is not a bill I will ever consider supporting," responded Senator Corker.
Wow, what a courageous stand by Corker! It might have been nice if he had taken the time to explain that it's also not a bill that anyone in the White House or Congress would ever consider proposing. But hey, that's probably too much to expect from our senator, who also can't bring himself to say for certain that the president is a U.S. citizen.

I thought the whole purpose of PITW was a "current events/newsy" blog. Am I wrong, Woods?
"Because he's white, because he considers the Constitution the law of the land, we are now considered terrorists in our own country. "
You insinuate that the woman was wrong. You seem surprised at this accusation. Do you not keep up with current events?
The current administration(in Washington) considers white, male, Constitutionalists to be potential terrorists. This is old news. The blogging thing is your real job, isn't it? You should try to keep up.
Here, I will help.

Uh, that report was actually commissioned by the Bush administration doofus. The date of publication is April 2009 - which means it was completed before the end of Bush II's term. And it says that there is a siginificant rise in white supremacy paramilitary groups. Extrapolating that to mean "white, male, constitutionalists" is a very broad generalization - unless of course that's how these paramilitary groups have rebranded themselves! Because let's face it, it does sound better than the Aryan Brotherhood....

You have only to read the comments on this blog to know that there is a frightening current of violence running through our society. Comments like "blood in the streets," that sort of thing.
Also in your own link from the conservative Washington Times is this line you might have overlooked.
"The White House has distanced itself from the analysis."
Unless that woman in Memphis actually is a member of a armed right-winged militia she's way out of line.
And like warning of Obama Determined to Attack in the United States, it's the job of Homeland Security (a Bush Administration creation) to look into threats of violence and warn the president about them. At least apparently Obama read the warning, unlike some we could mention.
Got a source on that mandatory abortion thingie?

The thing is, there are millions upon millions of intelligent, reasonable conservatives. They need to demand that their elected officials stop humoring this bullshit so the extreme right-wing of the party feels totally abandonded and splits off into their own hyperlibertarian/racist/whatever group. Then the real fun begins! The grownups get to have reasonable discussions and the kids are sent to the backyard to play. With guns.

It's amazing and more than a little frightening to see what's happening in this country currently. Obama has been in office for about 6 months now. 6 months. He has not radically changed ANYTHING in the way Americans go about their daily lives, pay taxes, etc. and yet if you listened to these lunatics you'd think civilized society was crumbling before our very eyes. I don't understand where it comes from and how without any real facts and solid evidence that it continues and escalates.
Also I find it more than a little ironic that these same people who for 8 years of racial profiling and monitoring/infiltrating/etc. kept up a steady chatter of "if you're not doing anything wrong, you shouldn't have anything to worry about" when it came to the Bush administration listening in on private citizen's phonecalls, locking people up in Gitmo with no due process, and some increasingly frightening violations of privacy and civil rights for anyone even remotely suspected of being a "danger".

Jack, I might be amused, too, if it weren't for the growing sense that these people are going to erupt in deranged acts of violence, spurred on by people like Glenn Beck (the Father Coughlin of our time). These people don't hate Obama for what he's done but for what they THINK he represents and, therefore, WILL do. Facts and reason are irrelevant.
I don't spend a lot of time worrying about it, but it has occurred to me more than once that the way we'll get meaningful healthcare legislation is that one of these Glenn Beck "patriots" makes good on his dream of assassinating Obama, and then President Biden rams the legislation through Congress the way LBJ was able to do with civil rights in 1964.
It was a mistake to underestimate the power of the poisoned minds in Dallas in 1963, and it's a mistake to underestimate them now.

And as far as Rove goes, Reagsn's Treaury Secretary, Dr Paul Craig Roberts said that Chaney, Rove, Rummy were all considered to be nut cases when he was in Washington. Oberman reported that Chicken Dick wanted to stage an attack on our Navy and blame it on Iran so we could go to war with Iran. That is pretty psycho. How many intelligent dems were up in arms over; the Patriot Act, and the invasions of privacy, attempts to block free speech, not to mention labling war protesters as terrorist or terrorist sympathizers- that hated their country. In fact most dems I personally knew and listen to didnt care for any of the big government programs that the Bush mob brought us.
Your right Libertarians are generally opposed to high taxes. And seeing how our government has just given trillions to the mega banksters that put us in this depression, it's kind of understandable.
The fact is that most democrats and republicans that I know personally are totally brainwashed and are married to either Bush or Obama and will blindly agree to anything they do. Try to telling a "base" republican neocon that Bush trippled the size of government and took a big chunk of their rights and freedoms because of some guy in a cave. THey generally reply "uh, uh but he was so better than Gore would have been, and he kept us safe." or Tell an Obamabot that the wars are still on, we still have the Patriot Act, spying is still on FIZA etc. Other than Larry Flint noone says a word. And if you disagree with Obama then you must be a racist. Just like you were labled an unpatriotic terorist or hated your country if you had any opposition with Bush regime.

Somebody commented here that not much has changed in last 6 months w/ how folks live their lives, etc.. I'll tell you what's changed - a black man is in the white house now. Someone crazy enough to think that someone is coming to her house to force an abortion on her is crazy enough to act out with violence as a psycho-perceived kind of self defense. The stoking of hate by the right will lead to violence somewhere, and the Glenn Beck / Limbaugh's of the world will just wash their hands of what they are creating. We had a guy with a gun holstered on his leg and a sign about watering the tree of liberty (w/ blood) at a rally this week. How much more direct of a desire for violent action does someone have to display before something is done about this insanity? The GOP should be ashamed of what it's become - but they have no shame, and are not even worthy of being considered intelligent or organized opposition now. PATHETIC!

The "conservative" arguments on here in response to me from Big D and anonymous are pretty funny. Big D - my stating that Obama is black is not a criticism - although I guess it may be where you're coming from. What I'm criticizing is the psycho, desperate, and yes, clearly racist tone we see over and over from the right. Why did the lady in the clip say Obama thinks she's a terrorist because she's white? Because she's crazy and full of it, of course - but also because she's scared and very uncomfortable with the notion of a black man in our nation's highest office. So in her warped view, he must be out to get her, right? And to anonymous - Jody Foster didn't go around calling folks Nazis on a daily basis like Limbaugh, or simulating poisoning the speaker of the house, like Beck. The right sees the country is changing, that power is gone from them, and that they are out of ideas that work for people. So what do we get? Lies, fear, race baiting, name calling - you know, stuff they're actually good at. Keep up the bad work.
