Fair enough. But why does Forrester single out Carr when Democrats are guilty too? It's a scam run by all the legislators who live close enough to Nashville to go home at the end of the day. They don't need to stay in hotels while here doing the people's business, so why are they claiming the $171 per diem? A sampling: Sen. Thelma Harper, D-Nashville, claimed $17,392, Sen. Mae Beavers, R-Mount Juliet, $15,390, Sen. Joe Haynes, D-Nashville, $13,851, and Sen. Jack Johnson, R-Brentwood, $13,851.
Any lawmaker can saunter into the Legislative Plaza, check his mail, pinch his secretary on the ass and go home. Ka-ching! That's an easy $171!

Really now, considering human nature is the scamming a surprise?
All the more reason to place reliance for all good things upon the shoulders of our governmental servants. After all, they're fighting for me.
Mmmmm. Shit. Phhffftttt.
As a resident of the 48th district, I've sent an e-mail requesting an explanation. I'll withhold judgment, at this time, until I receive one. But it obviously doesn't appear good.
Its one thing if these legislators represent huge districts and have to travel hours and hours - out of the ones you mentioned i think Mae Beavers has one of the largest districts in the state so hers can be justified...but the other nashville legislators you mentioned dont have to go very far
Also, I hope at least some of these are committee chairmen or are leaders of some kind in the legislature in order for them to be collecting this money...maybe someone should look into that as well - otherwise they should just check their emails from home and start saving the state money!
Jeff Woods,
Your remark about the legislators "pinching their secretaries on the butt" was totally uncalled for. Don't judge other well mannered folks by what you would do in their situation. That was down right ugly and disrespectful of you. Clean up your act.
