Wamp and Ramsey Go Nuts in Fight for Crazy Vote

They don't seem to care much about helping ordinary Tennesseans losing jobs in this economy, but Zach Wamp and Ron Ramsey are really eager to please gun freaks. Over the weekend at a Republican picnic, as we all learned in today's Morning Roundup, Wamp assumed his best Gary Cooper pose and actually said this:
"People have asked me what we'd do if President Barack Obama issued an executive order to take firearms away from the people. I'll tell you what we'd do. We will meet him at the state line!"
While Wamp promotes secession to fend off an imaginary threat, Ron Ramsey is denouncing Sonia Sotomayor as a Second Amendment sissy. He took the unusual step of putting out a statement to announce his viewpoint on the Sotomayor nomination, as if anyone in Washington was waiting to hear from our hillbilly Senate speaker. Ramsey couldn't bring himself to publicly call for Paul Stanley's resignation, except ex post facto. Yet he thinks it's oh-so-very-important to call for Sotomayor's defeat. Ramsey declared Sotomayor is a danger to all free-thinking mortals because she held in 2009 that the Second Amendment doesn't limit state controls on guns -- only federal controls. That ruling was in keeping with a 19th Century Supreme Court precedent and subsequent appellate court rulings. You'd think a defender of state sovereignty like Ramsey would agree. Whatever happened to states' rights? Why are Ramsey and Wamp talking so crazy? That's what you do when you're fighting over the crazy vote. Each of them is trying to become the alternative to Bill Haslam, who's already wrapped up all the sane voters. Even a year before the primary, Ramsey and Wamp are so desperate they'll say just about anything.

Zack Wamp sounds and looks a little like George Wallace back in the 60s. Ron Ramsey is just a legend in his own mind.

Is this the same Jeff Woods who said that Bill Haslam has an exceedingly thin life story and questioned what his credentials were to be governor???
Now you say all the sane voters will support him. How about all the millionaires will support him.

Jeff Woods is a LIAR. I was at the picnic where Ron Ramsey and Zack Wamp were at and the picture is not of the picnic but some other event which has nothing to do with the picnic. Jeff Woods is taking things out of context and twisting them around to promote his left wing agenda. Just like most of the media does. If you want to see a 10 page analysis of the democratic healthcare bill go to http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=22827
Woods, at least come to the event before you start lobbing lies about it and the Republicans.

Is David Roberts engaging in sarcasm and political humor or does he really think that most Pith readers believe that photo accompanying this story was at the GOP picnic?

Woods, man. Did I ever say how sorry I am for criticizing your noble and intelligent work? Well, I'm not really, sic!
Anyhow, this is what happens when pandering is circumvented by a candidate with a philosophically consistent platform.
Oh, my mom's family is from Rutherford County, don't be messing with my cousin!

Yeah, these guys are politicians, they say stupid crap. Shocking, I know...
As for States rights, I think their stand there is that the constitution specifically says these rights are for all people, all others go to the state.....
It would be like allowing a state to censor newspapers or jail people indefinitely with no trial...you know - act like Bush 2.... =)
