Bill Clinton to Keynote Dems' Jackson Day Fundraiser

A major coup for the state Democratic Party: Bill Clinton has agreed to keynote the annual Jackson Day fundraiser. Sources (and various others) say it was former Gov. Ned Ray McWherter who persuaded Clinton. The fundraiser is Aug. 29 at the downtown Renaissance Hotel. By comparison, the GOP's keynoter at this Saturday's Statemen's Dinner seems a little lame now. It's Jeff Sessions, the ranking Republican on Senate Judiciary Committee, who has made an ass of himself during the Sotomayor confirmation hearings. Update: The official announcement.

"Jeff Sessions, the ranking Republican on Senate Judiciary Committee, who has made an ass of himself during the Sotomayor confirmation hearings."
And you would be able to recognize an ass since that's what stares back at you in the mirror.

Jeff Sessions was the biggest ass in the chamber questioning Judge Sotomayor. The people of Alabama must be so proud! Nice get there TN GOP!! That night should rake in hundreds of dollars! Misogynistic racist!

If you ask me, this is a big coup for Mike McWherter's hopes in the Democratic Primary. Will Clinton do a fundraiser for Mike? Think Clinton will have some kind words for Mike while he's in town?

That's also the expression Bill wears when he's feeling my pain.

Emmett, come back when you get some snappier comebacks than Pee Wee Herman.

Woods, your post is more than a little misleading when you say that Sessions made an ass of himself at the Sotomayor hearings.
Jefferson Beauregard Sessions' self-assualizations occur pretty much every time the bwoy opens his mouth.
This is the crackerwood who used to describe the NAACP as "communist-inspired" while saying the KKK was "OK."
He will be a perfect fit for the GOP dinner. Maybe he and Robin Smith and Chip Saltsman can sing "Barack the Magic Negro" as the big showstopper. Then he and Bill Hobbs can lead a caravan out to lay a wreath by the statue of Bedford Forrest.

You're going have to get off of that high horse before you can be taken seriously. I mean really, have you read the headlines lately? Apparently it isn't just the Dem's getting blowjobs by interns these days. Get over yourself.
