Even Jonny's Sports Bar Bans Handguns

Since her husband was shot to death in a Nashville sports bar this spring, Nikki Goeser has become the public face of the NRA's campaign to make it legal for Tennessee's licensed gunmen to go armed into drinking establishments. She contends that if she'd only had a gun with her at Jonny's Sports Bar, she could have saved her husband's life. "Yes, a gun can kill but, in the correct hands, it can also be used to save innocent lives," she says on this video in which she demonstrates her skill on a shooting range. Well, it turns out that even the folks at Jonny's apparently don't buy the NRA's logic. The Nolensville Road bar is one of many that have posted signs banning handguns on their premises. Pith called Jonny's and asked to speak to the owner or manager. The guy who came to the phone confirmed Jonny's has banned guns but wouldn't talk about it. He said other media outlets know Jonny's has banned guns but have agreed not to report this news for reasons that escape Pith. "We put the signs up," he said, "but I don't want to be quoted at all." Update: The Tennessee Firearms Association produces handy cards to blackmail restauranters.

Apparently, it's just the dipshits on the Hill who figured this would be a good idea.

So we are in day two of the "guns in bars" bill. Where are the shoot outs? Has Wyatt Earp walked in and shot it out with the Clantons at Fido's? I went to dinner last night and saw a couple of guys that could be carrying (they were obviously from an outlying cow county and had that look about them) but I didnt see them shoot anyone. Where is the blood in the streets where is the OUTRAGE?!?!?!?! Where are the Dirty Harrys???

Keep listing places that are banning handguns. The gun nuts need to know where not to spend their money.
Wood, you are such douchebag.

Don't worry, the NRA and the local gunbloggers will also keep you up to speed.

Yes, boycotts work so well. Man those Southern Baptists almost put Disney out of business, right?
Sarcasm intended.

Emmett: There were no signs posted when Mr. Goeser was killed, so his killer didn't know that Jonny's had banned guns from the premises. Now, everybody's safe.

Wow, I didn't realize all of our problems would have been taken care of with a simple sign at the front of a bar... why'd it take us so long?

Recently, in Franklin, the same man has eaten at Chili's, Pueblo Real and Logan's. Each time, this man carried a handgun. On one occasion, the man with a gun was joined by his family WITH CHILDREN. No shots were fired, no one was aware of the man with a gun, authorities are not looking for this armed man and incidents like this are expected to continue. Have a nice day.

Ryan, you really need to study up. I was trying to point out that when Mr. Goeser was killed the new law had not taken effect and guns were banned in all establishments that serve alcohol. Evidently my reference was too subtle for you.

The difference between the gun guys and the Baptist is that the gun guys believe what they are saying.
