State Democratic Party chair Chip Forrester kept up his attacks on Secretary of State Tre Hargett this morning during an appearance on Liberadio(!) He cited a "pattern of behavior" by Hargett--the "wholesale firing" of county election coordinators, sending the TBI to intimidate a political foe, and refusing to implement the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act. "There appears to be a sort of pervasive effort on the part of republicans to disenfranchise voters. If he is not going to do his job ... he's gotta go." Forrester didn't say it but suggested the party might sue to force Hargett to implement the voter law:
"This is not over for the Tennessee Democratic Party. We're going to explore the options. This is too important and too critical for the state of Tennessee to have fair and accurate elections in the state of Tennessee for us to let this die. So you will certainly hear more from the party on this."

On the Liberadio(!) blog, Mary Mancini and Bernie Ellis rebut Hargett's arguments against the Voter Confidence Act.

Hargett has spent more time raising campaign money and lobbying for Pfizer than helping people in TN............This guy needs to go!!
Hargett is a two bit redneck politician milking the government for every penny he can just like his daddy!
These hacks that cry "socialist" all the while earning 180k for being the Sec. of State when the only thing he does is what the GOP tells him to do!
