Here's Your Chance to Be in a Video With Future Senator Hank Williams Jr.!

Posted by Jack Silverman on Mon, Jun 22, 2009 at 10:05 AM

Here's Hank Jr. in 1989 talking about his first season on Monday Night Football. After 20 years, isn't it time for someone more current? Shania Twain? DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince? Not often do you have the opportunity to be a part of both political and sports history, which is why we encourage you to head on down to Centennial Park today and tomorrow to be an extra in this year's ESPN Monday Night Football opening video, featuring none other than future Tennessee Senator Hank Williams Jr. Just imagine: Hank Jr. as a U.S. senator, and John Rich as governor. The mind boggles. There'd be no holding Tennessee back! It'd be one big hog-tyin', whiskey-drinkin', ass-kickin' hoedown in the Volunteer State. (Please God, please! Sure, we'd be the laughingstock of the nation, and it would be disastrous for the state's well-being...but it would be a blogger's paradise. Is that selfish of us?) Meanwhile, co-starring with Hank is none other than future secretary of state Gloria Estefan. In a post titled "The Miami Sound Machine Is Not Going To Take This Lying Down Edition," Music City Miracles blogger August West summed it up nicely: "Gloria Estefan? Way to play to your fanbase, NFL."
