Tennessee's Unemployment Breaks into the Double Digits

After flirting with double digits over the past few months, Tennessee has finally broken through. Unemployment in the state rose to 10.7 percent last month, jumping nearly a point above April, and leaping more than a point over the 9.4 percent national average.

That totally explains why it takes four days to get somebody from the UI office on the phone...

I'm so glad our state legislature has spent this session focused on abortion, gays, and guns!!!!

Me too.
If the legislature had spent it's time trying to "fix" the economy, the unemployment rate would probably be 20% by now instead of a little over 10%.
