It sounds like a good idea to me. It should be given to the taxpayers - each individal one who actually pays taxes and in distributed in proportion to the total dollar amount of taxes each individual paid.
And there's no reason to stop with the auto companies. The preferred stock that the taxpayers bought in all those banks and othter financial institutions should be distributed to the taxpayers as well.
The interest income the government receives on any loans to companies should be distributed also.
The top 50% of income earners pay 97% of all the federal income taxes in the country. It's about time that those who are actually paying for all this stuff get some return on their money.
Just make sure that none of the sponge, leech and parasite class who don't pay any federal income taxes don't get any of it.
They're getting way too much of a free ride already.
The wealthy pay some taxes but many inherit their wealth so they didn't work for it. So no, you don't have to work to pay taxes but someone has to work to make your investments of value unless you invested in real estate or hedge funds. Then it's just all funny money.
