Chattanooga Times Free Press joins the editorial calls for lawmakers to sustain the governor's guns-in-bars veto:
Isn't it interesting that as Tennessee, like many other states, is troubled by difficult financial problems in a lagging economy, there is so much legislative interest in allowing guns in bars while solutions to pressing financial problems are lacking. Gun issues do stir emotional reactions. Guns and alcohol may invite serious tragedies. We hope a majority of Tennessee's legislators will reconsider, and let Gov. Bredesen's sound veto prevail.
