Oscar Brock 'Corrects the Record' on Kent Williams

Posted by on Wed, May 27, 2009 at 9:28 AM

State GOP chair candidate Oscar Brock suddenly has changed his views on House Speaker Kent Williams. Brock told the Associated Press: "I'm not in the business of throwing anybody out of the party right now." Whoops! Now, Brock is telling Tom Humphrey in an email:
I am manifestly opposed to allowing Kent Williams to run as a Republican next year. Williams used deception to gain power. He abused the public trust. He abandoned critical principals that I hold dear and I am very unlikely to ever trust the man. He has proven that he has no honesty, no integrity. And for those reasons, I cannot respect him.
Brock adds, "Thanks for allowing me to correct the record." We're guessing Brock has taken a few calls from party executive committee members questioning his first thought on this matter.
