Ron Ramsey is touting the "midnight madness" kickoff to his gubernatorial campaign again in an email to supporters. The latest news? Steve Gill will act as the master of ceremonies. Oh boy! The event at Puckett's Grocery in Franklin starts at midnight June 1, the first day the law allows Ramsey to raise money for the governor's race. And this time, Ramsey makes it clear in his email he's not soliciting campaign contributions before that precise moment in time:
Nothing contained in this invitation is, or should be construed as, either a solicitation or an acceptance of a contribution by Lt. Gov. Ramsey, the Ramsey for Governor Campaign, or its agents. Further, Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, the Ramsey for Governor Campaign, and its agents do NOT authorize any expenditures or contributions whatsoever, prior to 12:01 AM June 1, 2009, by any person, club, company, organization, political campaign committee or other entity in support of the nomination or election of Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey for any office.

Ramsey wouldn't want to break the law before he gets the chance to change it.

So Ron Ramsey has been:
Busted for sending out during session fundraising invitations to his little RAAMPAC Nashville Sounds fundraiser.
Busted for using Chip Saltsman's SALTPAC as a conduit to get around campaign contribution limits.
So now he:
Sends out during session fundraising invitations to his campaign kick off fundraiser.
Proposes a bill to allow fundraising during session and remove contribution limits.
The sleeze oozes off this douchebag.
