The Little Ball of Weirdos Known As The Tennessee Legislature finds itself in something of a pickle. In their contest to see who best wears the crown of Mr. Second Amendment, they've been on a rampage to make sure we can carry guns anywhere we're paranoid enough to believe that masked men will come to take our money and white women -- be it the bar, the playground or the Little League field.

But they're feeling a bit of fire for their hypocrisy. See, it's still illegal to carry guns where legislators hang out (read: the Capitol). This is a perfectly reasonable policy, of course, because to do otherwise risks getting their ass shot off. But it doesn't look so good when you put everyone else at risk except yourself.

So the Supreme Leader of the Goober Faction, Lt. Gov Ron Ramsey, wants to change this. But the Supreme Leader of the Betrayal Faction, House Speaker Kent Williams, isn't going along. As he tells Tom Humphrey, "I've supported all the gun bills. But I don't think I could support that, because I would have been shot on Jan. 13." (You may recall this as the day he outsmarted fellow Republicans to win the speaker's chair.)

Even Ramsey, whose pandering to the far right knows no limits, likely realizes this is a stupid idea. But in his quest for governor, he'll do damn near anything to prove he's way more Second Amendment than the leading brand, even if it means putting his colleagues at risk.

Yet the real fun won't start till one of his fellow nutbags tries to trump him by allowing guns in court rooms and police stations. Now that will be interesting.

Yes because that happens everywhere else where Handgun Carry Permit holders go. Do you guys even believe the stuff you say, or do you just do it for traffic?

Does anyone honestly take this tripe seriously?
Why hasn't this law been a problem in Austin, TX. Pete?

Perhaps Mr. Kotz should interview some rape victims & ask them if they would've preferred to have been able to defeat their attackers?
This same infantile handwringing occured when the carry permit law first passed. Yet, no "Wild West" shoot outs have happened, much to libtards chagrin.
Are carry permit holders perfect? Far from it, as we're all human. But I believe if one compares permit holders to sworn police officers, I believe you'll find a lower % of permit holders who have their permits revoked versus officers who have resigned or been fired.
If parks & the streets are SO safe, then why do the police carry firearms?
