Tennessee Meat Goats, AKA "Fainting Goats," Raise Hilarious Quotient in World

Posted by Brantley Hargrove on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 5:21 PM

Behold, the Tennessee Meat Goat: An animal with a neuromuscular condition that causes its legs to stiffen when startled. Known earliest in Marshall County, Tennessee in the 1800s, the TMG or "fainting goat" is widely recognized as the funniest of all farm animals.

And some humans drop dead of a heart attack when startled.
Yeah, real funny to see a guy out there chasing these poor goats to make them faint.

My in-laws had about 20 of these.
What is so crazy is that their insurance company cancelled their homeowner's insurance because apparently fainting goats are also fire hazards!
Who knew that they could pass out and/or combust into fire and run through a house and burn it down?
I shit you not....

No, you must be shitting me. A fire hazard? If it is possible, the fainting goat just became funnier.
Seriously, Anonymous? Heart attacks? Fainting goats? Correlation? I bet you're a blast at parties.
