How About Special Badges for Our New Force of Homeland Guardians?

An update on that handgun carry permit holder who was firing his weapon on a bicycle path in Knoxville.* Police say he "did not seem to be mentally stable," there were children playing nearby, and he was carrying an official-looking badge identifying himself as a member in good standing of our courageous law-abiding force of licensed gunmen. Apparently, you can buy these badges at gun shows.
"We do not recommend or encourage civilian permit holders to do anything to bring any attention to the fact that they are either a permit holder or are at any time armed," said John Harris, general counsel for the Tennessee Sheriffs Association and executive director of the pro-gun group Tennessee Firearms Association. "With those permit badges, you could look and act too much like an officer and then end up getting charged with impersonating an officer."
Sounds like a violation of this guy's Second Amendment rights. If our handgun carry permit holders want badges, they should have them. And how about cool uniforms too? * Another story you'll never read at Post Politics.

We don't need no stinkin' badges.
Did you read the one about getting a traffic citation might get you fingerprinted???
Meanwhile the fucking gun buyers get a free pass on this????

NOT POSSIBLE!!!!!
We've been assured that ALL handgun carry permit holders are responsible, upstanding, mentally stable citizens! Apparently ensuring that is the case is the one and only aspect of the law conservatives think actually works. Every other part of the government they have no use for.
Funny how that is.

Wait. So the rumors of you having and Post Politics being locked in a bitter rivalry are true?

When the answer to every dispute is to fire your gun, children die.

Bitter rivalry? I don't think so. I'm just messing with Adam because he's a gun nut and suppresses news of permit holders' madcap adventures.

I can't get him to confirm a bitter rivalry either. He says he likes you just fine.
Clearly the rumormongers in this state suck.

I'm not aware of a bitter rivalry but would certainly be amenable to one. It would likely be mutually beneficial traffic-wise just like the Tupac/Biggie feud was for record sales.
Of course, they are both dead now. But since Woods is more than likely unarmed I should be safe.
The only question is who would I be? Biggie or Tupac?

You've gotta be Tupac, AC. Jeff could never pass for a sex symbol desperado.

This story is hilarious. It's no wonder the gun nuts are trying to hide their identities because everytime one of them gets caught doing something stupid like this -- or worse, as in four killings in Memphis -- it's easy to out them, thanks to the Memphis newspaper's online database.

Let me correct myself: it would be hilarious if there hadn't been kids nearby when the guns started blazing.
And, uh, what were these two middle-age weirdos doing out there anyway, other than chasing phantom threats?
