Guns-in-Bars Bill Clears House Again

The House just voted 66-23 to accept the Senate version of the guns-in-bars bill. So unless there's a veto by the governor, all the highly trained, responsible, law-abiding citizens who possess handgun carry permits in this state can take their weapons into bars starting this summer. I feel safer already. The House originally passed this bill with an 11 o'clock curfew for licensed gunmen to surrender their weapons, but the Senate did away with that provision, and so did the conference committee appointed to settle the difference. The conference committee also deleted a ban on guns in smoking bars that restrict patrons to 21 years or older.

As Rep. Jimmy Naifeh noted, "We now have true bars that alcohol and guns are going to be mixed in. ... You can carry guns in more places than you can smoke."

Actually, Jeff, the bill only applies to restaurants that make more than half their revenue from food.
But you wouldnt want facts to get in the way of your hyperbole, would you?
