Good News for the Peasantry: Metro Reaches Out on Energy Assistance

Posted by Pete Kotz on Wed, May 6, 2009 at 3:00 PM

If you're broke and struggling with your energy bills, there's good news from the Metropolitan Action Committee. The agency received an extra $3.1 million from the feds in December for its low income home energy assistance program. Which means there may be money for you if you qualify.

The agency has helped out 13,000 families this year, twice as many as last year. They've opened a new office at the Human Services office at 1000 2nd Avenue North, and are also taking applications at the main office at 1624 5th Avenue North. For more info check out their website.
