The inclusion of plans for a greenroof for the proposed convention center is one way to sell the thing as environmentally non-threatening, but why not follow Orlando's lead and go for the big one: a rooftop solar array. In a few weeks Orlando will launch the largest solar photovoltaic system in the southeast, on the roof of the Orange County Convention Center. At full tilt the thing will generate more than 1,300 megawatt hours of electricity per year, enough energy for 80 to 100 typical houses.
