Aryan Nation Seeks Recruits; Is Legislative Reception Next?

The Aryan Nation, that onetime force of cracker supremacy run aground in the early 2000s, is seeking new recruits. With the black guy in the White House, the whiteys from Idaho feel it's only a matter of time before the Great Honky Insurrection is back in play.

Alas, it may not go as easy as planned. A recent leafletting drive in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho -- which featured fliers with a young girl asking her father "Why did those dark men take mommy away?" -- seemed to do little more than prompt calls to the cops.

But maybe the group is simply fishing the wrong waters. With all the gymnastics the Tennessee legislature is playing to avoid a vote to regret slavery, we're guessing they'd get a much better reception here in Capitol Hill. RSVP Reps. Gerald McCormick and Eric Watson.

When Obammy was kowtowing to latin American leaders, he said "Don't blame me for something that happened when I was three months old". So why are you trying to blame me for something that happened before my GRANDFATHER was born? Didn't you get the memo?

You're right, Fifty, no one alive today is to blame for slavery. But the resolution has nothing to do with blame. It simply expresses "regret" for slavery. Who can't regret that it occurred? I'm not understanding that.

Kotz, If you would actually take the time to read the resolution it says in black and white that rep. Gilmore would like the state to APOLIGIZE. An apoligy and expressing regret are two separate things. I would also like to say that rep.Gilmore assured the state and local government commitee multiple times that the word "apoligy" was not in the bill when indeed it was.

I guess I don't see the difference between apologizing and expressing regret in this case. What's wrong with apologizing for something wrong your country did? Most of us didn't even have relatives in the U.S. at the time, but it just seems like the big thing to do.

That apology took place from 1861 to 1865, and cost the lives of almost 600,000 Americans. I guess that's not enough for some people.

The people who are so against an official "apology" are also the people who think the civil war was about "state's rights" and had little to do with slavery.

Nice, I hope we can all learn to use racist words more often and everyone can get the chip off their shoulders. Taking offense to words that define a stereotype can only mean one thing, you fit the bill, or you are low on IQ points. Words are words, you are the one who chooses to be offended by them. The sooner we learn to stop caring over crap that happened in the past the sooner we move forward to the future. I'm not saying slavery wasn't horrible, I'm just saying everyone needs to get over it. Everyone has been slaves at some point in history, and honestly a lot of people who had nothing to do with it get tethered to the blame.
