In a post-9/11 world, there's one rule everyone should know by now: Don't threaten to blow anything up, no matter how bad you think you're getting screwed.
Metro Police just picked up Rymond Mohaghegh for allegedly threatening to bomb First Tennessee Financial Bank on West End Avenue at the end of last year. Frustrated with his mortgage, a police affidavit says Mohaghegh told a bank teller, "I'm gonna blow this fucking bank up," and walked out the lobby, leaving in his wake a florid trail of obscenities.
The teller took down Mohaghegh's vehicle tag and reported it to police. The bomb squad was dispatched and, of course, it turned out to be nothing more than an idle threat from a mortgagor. The man is charged with a felony, falling under the statute for false reporting.
