Stacey Campfield Waxes Delusional Poetic on the Binghamton Murders

Few Tennessee politicians get as much love from Pith in the Wind as does state Rep. Stacey Campfield. Regular Pith readers have witnessed Jeff Woods and Pete Kotz shower him with attention. Still, though he's finished seventh, and fourth and, just last week, second in our weekly "Kook Power Rankings," he can't seem to take the No. 1 spot. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Maybe that's starting to get to Stacey. Is he desperate to be Top Kook? At least that would explain his bizarre blog post Friday on the Binghamton murders, in which he managed to use one of the more horrendous mass murders in recent memory as justification for pro-gun legislation, particularly his recent bill that would allow guns on Tennessee's college campuses. Yes, you read that right: Last week's tragic event took place because gun laws are too strict. Apparently, Campfield grew up a few miles from the crime scene, so he has a unique perspective on the situation. Here are a few excerpts from his thoughtful, nuanced reflection on the grizzly crime:
...It is looking like just another crazy unchecked killer on a rampage before suicide. Some of the arguments I heard while making the case for my gun bills was their [sic] may be confusion with multiple shooters. There is plenty of security on campuses already. It is a low crime area so what could happen? Let me assure you. The police coverage in that area of Binghamton is incredibly heavy. Way more then UT. One thing that area has is tons of cops and the station is very near by (A mile or so?). The crime rate is pretty low. Shootings are a real rarity. The result? It was not enough. The police were there in minutes but waited outside for over an hour. The shooter finally got bored of pulling the trigger and did himself in but only after taking over a dozen lives. The police are now on hand to make reports, draw chalk outlines and clean up the mess. What a relief. I am sure the dead in Binghamton are relieved they never had to worry about any confusion over someone who might have been firing back at the killer. They probably were told they had nothing to fear with such a low crime rate area and I am sure many felt strongly nothing could happen. I am sure the dead in Binghamton are relieved they never had to worry about any confusion over someone who might have been firing back at the killer. They probably were told they had nothing to fear with such a low crime rate area and I am sure many felt strongly nothing could happen. We see the result. My prayers go out to those who have lost.
So let me get this straight: A tragic mass murder by a violent, unhinged man with a gun provides the perfect argument why we need to make it easier to purchase and carry guns. Pete Kotz, I'm not telling you how to run your Kook Power Rankings, but Stacey Campfield is making a strong case, no?

Interesting.
Stacey's a man of mystery where details of his previous life are concerned. He appeared in Knoxville like a fully-formed Penis on the half-shell and has kept the 411 about his background on the downlow. This is the most I've ever seen him say about life in New York.

I think Kevin really isn't reading the Scene this time. He has better things to do, like saving the Republic from dangerous lefties like myself.

Rep. Stacey Campfield - a Yankee (go figure)?
Rep. Matthew Hill is also a YBB (Yankee By Birth) abd like Campfiled plays it down by stating in his campaign lit that he is a "..seventh generation Tennesseean" or something similar.
Rep, Hill's father, Kenneth C. Hill - a member of the Tennessee Republican Party State Executive Board from Sullivan County in the Northeast- also files as being "American Indian/Alaskan Native" under penalty of United States Code on several of his Federal Communications Commission radio station ownership forms while he filed his application for voter registration way back in December 1983 (way before the internet) with the Sullivan County Election Comission as being "W" (white).
I only mention this fact about the elder TNRP State Execitive Committee member Hill as the Tennessee Republican Republican Party Gopführer Robin Smith has been making demands of "honesty" from elected Tennessee Republican politicians (or making these demands of at least one Tennessee Republican politician)...and we all know that Smith cannot afford to have GOPers running around the TNRP reservation flapping thier forked tongues.
Someone should offer a bounty for more background info about Campfiled (say like a gift certificate for a box of Duncan Donuts chocolate cake donuts) and get to the real 411 of beta about this Yankee Campfield...

I demand that they all release their long-form birth certificates! Immediately.
And wow, Stacey Campfield really is almost illiterate, isn't he?

The irony is, of course, that the Binghamton shooter had a New York gun-carry permit:

Hello. Nothing inspires forgiveness quite like revenge. Help me! I find sites on the topic: Breitling watches parts. I found only this - breitling watch forum. Breitling watches, every servicing zehn must be real to talk safety of his shops and concentration by pellets of a service record launched out in his vitamin. Breitling watches, department, colombia are almost a play for pond integrity complainants. With best wishes , Nessa from Islands.
