The Jay Cutler saga is over. The former Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback wanted a trade from the Denver Broncos and that's what he got. He's now a Chicago Bear. A fact that should surprise no one.

Based on a really comprehensive list we just created, the Bears have nearly half of the nine Commodores currently in the NFL. Tackle Chris Williams, linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer, wide receiver Earl Bennett and now Cutler. It's like, a conspiracy or something.

Here's the list. Let us know if we missed anyone:

Marcus Buggs, Linebacker, Buffalo Bills
Curtis Gatewood, Linebacker, Kansas City Chiefs
Jonathan Goff, Linebacker*, New York Giants
Todd Yoder, Tight End, Washington Redskins
Jovan Haye, Defensive Tackle, Titans
Corey Chavous, Safety, Free Agent, Just released by St. Louis Rams
Justin Geisinger, Guard, Free Agent

*Just based on this list, it's pretty clear that Warren Belin, linebackers coach and head recruiter for the Commodores, will be on some school's short list for a top job very, very soon.

Jamie Winborn, linebacker, is a free agent and will likely sign with some team

Good on you, Nicoli. And another linebacker to boot.

Amazingly, it also appears hard-nosed linebacker Matt Stewart has snagged a roster spot with the Dallas Cowboys. However, if I were to wager, I would say he won't make the final 53-man roster cut.

Hey, they don't call Vandy "Linebacker U." for no reason. Though he's no longer in the NFL, the best Commodore LB I ever saw was Jamie Duncan, who retired from the league a few years back.

Remove the apostrophe in Commodore's because it is a plural noun rather than possessive.

I'm still holding out hope that the Titans will draft D.J. Moore. But that still leaves Reshard Langford for Da Bears if they want another Commodore!
How good do you suppose Cutler will be next year, getting to throw to his favorite WR once again?

Thanks for the catch, Emmett.
GoldnI, in most mocks I've seen Moore is still around by pick 30. But I don't think the Titans take him.
The early runs on tackles and wideouts will mean higher-caliber talent like Illinois' Vontae Davis may still be available. And Moore's versatility as a kick returner is less of an enticement now that we signed Mark Jones to replace Chris Carr. Could be wrong, but the tea leaves seem to show Moore leaving Nashville.
