It's Getting Ugly Out There: Jobless Rate Jumps to 9.1 Percent

Posted by Pete Kotz on Fri, Mar 20, 2009 at 5:10 AM

In the last year, Tennessee has lost 110,700 jobs, and the unemployment rate continues to soar.

The new rate is 9.1 percent, the highest since 1984. Between January and February alone, another 8,000 people were added to the ranks of the out of work.

So, Lt. Governor, do you think we might need that food stamp money after all?

i think its crazy.jobs are hosting job fairs but no one is really hiring..then you wait for a response they don't send out any notice saying you don't meet the expections or your application doesn't fit what they are looking for.its just sad how do they expect for people to make in the real world.my hat goes off to the single mothers.
