Could this spell the end of Little Houdini's delightful hijinks?
Christopher Gay, also known as "Little Houdini," has been caught in Florida
after escaping from a Coffee County, Tenn. deputy who was transporting him back to this state for allegedly stealing a Wal-Mart semi-truck.
Gay had been on the lam since Mar. 4 after law enforcement lost him in Kennesaw State University when he slipped his shackles at a nearby Waffle House. They caught up with him in Polk County, Fla. Monday, where he's detained in isolation due to the extreme escape risk he poses--and that, to be sure, is probably the only risk he poses to society. Well, unless you're country singer Crystal Gayle, whose tour bus he's accused of stealing to visit his ailing mother.
He took her bus to a racetrack in Florida and told officials he was there to pick up Tony Stewart.
Coffee County Sheriff told the Atlanta
Journal Constitution that he doesn't anticipate seeing Gay brought into the county jail anytime soon.
"It'll be a while before we get him," the sheriff chuckled. "Probably several years."
