Rep. Bill Posey, a freshman Republican from Florida, introduced a bill yesterday mirroring proposed state legislation in Missouri and elsewhere that stems from fringe doubts about Obama's eligibility for office.Hey Politico, where's the love? Tennessee's crack team of nutbags may not have broken the statehouse's kook glass ceiling, but we at least deserve a shout out a la Missouri.
(Of course, all this birth certificate nonsense proves is that history repeats itself, so long as you're a crazy person. Just replace "Roosevelt was a Stalinist Jew" with "Obama is a Muslim Communist" and you too can channel the ramblings of your racist, senile great-grandfather.)

Thank God the issue is finally getting the attention it deserves at levels which might make a difference.
Obama is a usurper and a traitor. Once he is 'outed', I'm hopeful he'll be tried and punished under the UCMJ which could result in summary execution.

Just call me a crazy birther, too. Show me his original certificate of live birth as signed by the doctor and his school records and if I'm wrong, we'll have a good laugh on Ol' Crazy Dave.
The Zero could halt the rumors and lawsuits in a minute if he would just submit the records. Yet, he doesn't. Instead, he has teams of lawyers all paid for by various liberal groups to fight it.
If he had nothing to hide, he wouldn't be working so hard to hide his birth records.
All we need to see is what passpor he used to go to Pakistan in 1981. We know he went because he said so himself. I could care less if every black in the US riots just as long as we obey the Constitution.Either we are a law abideing people or we hang it up and go back to the law of the jungle.
Ah, what Crazy Dave said. Double. When a politician spends millions on lawyers to prevent the public from seeing a simple piece of paper that would clear up the whole mess, one just HAS to be suspicious.
Oh, and for the historically challenged, Roosevelt was neither Jewish nor a Stalinist, he just filled his Administration with them. Go look it up.
Just watched Fox News reporting on Sarah Palins daughters break up from her boy friend. WOW we got a president that is a British citizen, which he has admitted to and all they can report on is the Palins.
One of the cable networks send reporters and cameramen all the way to Alaska to hunt down an 18 year old boy who broke up with his girlfriend/fiance, yet they won't even ASK about the eligibility of the POTUS?

The President said he was born in Hawaii and we should believe him. He is a man of high integrity. We, democrats, should ask him to disclose the original verifiable vault-certificate (not the COLB; Hawaii, statute 338, allows foreign born children of Hawaiian residents to get a Hawaiian birth certificate), showing the place of birth and the hospital. It will cost him $12, and the GOP will shot up.
It is hard to argue against his political enemies who claim he and our party spent nearly $1,000,000 to keep it secret. Even if the actual amount is less, there are now about 40 lawsuits and it is doubtful that all lawyers hired to keep the vault-BC under seal, work on pro-bono basis.
Also, right-wingers say that McCain produced all birth related documentation immediately and voluntarily when he was asked.
Furthermore, they claim that any politician knows how to pick battles. If $12 can stop this battle why spend a million to fight it? I hate to admit that I can not answer these questions.
We can not hope that this fringe of right-wingers are going to quit. In fact they are getting more active, with some lawmakers and military people joining as plaintiffs. Denying the issue just adds fuel to the fire. So I am sending a letter to the President today:
“Please Mr. President pay the $12 for your Vault Birth Certificate and make the opposition shot up. We are supporting you and we don’t need distractions in these hard economic times. “
Fellow Democrats, please, send him a similar request.
Here's a challenge to Caleb Hannan: pick up the phone, call Hawaii, and print the response you get to these qustions. I even provide the phone number and the person to speak to at the link.
It's about 8:45 AM on Monday in Hawaii, giving Caleb Hannan a full day to call them and confirm the assumptions of Ben Smith, FactCheck, and all the rest. Everyone watch: Caleb Hannan is not going to do that, because he knows their response will show that Smith and FC aren't telling the truth.
Good news for Birthers!
Orly Taitz had a confrontation with Chief Justice Roberts on Friday. She is convinced that she hasn't won her cases only because of "illegal activity that is going on in the Supreme Court of the United States."
So she brought her suitcase full of documents and presented them to him, along with her accusations of SCOTUS criminality, during a Q&A session following a lecture at the University of Idaho Law School.

You say "why is it hidden," as if we're talking about one thing; but a few comments back you make it clear that you want "his original certificate of live birth as signed by the doctor and his school records."
It's not clear how many documents that would require; but others have gone much further, also demanding immigration records, Social Security records, Selective Service, etc., etc.
It is absurd to suggest that he must comply with every request of every dissatisfied individual until every single man, woman, and child is convinced -- but, even beyond that, the Donofrio-type claims involving his father's Kenyan citizenship would not be resolved by any records he could possibly produce.
So, your claim that "the whole matter could be dismissed easily" is clearly untrue. He is smart to let the matter rest on the documentation he has already provided unless a qualified legal authority asks for more.

The reason that the media-telecom complex is "collborat[ing]" with him is that they FUNDED HIS CAMPAIGN, to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. The Bush FCC's whitespace/broadband decision INFURIATED the National Association of Broadcasters, who are actually SUING the Federal Government over this. The NAB, of course are big Democrat funders...also providing their glitteratti (Beyoncé, Anderson Cooper) to gush about Obama.
I think that Obama is such a good BSer that the Big Guys in the Democratic establishment bought his story about being born in Hawaii, but found out too late that... Think about it. Why is it that NOBODY has come forward with some cute anecdote about Baby Obama (who is now VERY famous), from one of the Honolulu hospitals, yet people in Kenya claim to have seen his birth? Why is Obama, who was very candid about things like his cocaine use, so dodgy about releasing ANY of his personal records?

I think for the majority of the people that are concerned about Obama's citizenship, the original long form of his birth certificate would suffice.

I could care less what color Obama is. Obama is far more racist then I'll ever be. The fact that he is not a Natural Born Citizen puts him right next to his friend Bill Ayers, stomping on the American Flag. What is he hiding?

Well, Me, remember that for many of us who were concerned about his citizenship, the COLB suffices.
There's a loud, vocal fringe that remains; and perhaps you are right, "the original long form of his birth certificate" would result in there being a somewhat smaller vocal fringe.
So, what will it take to satisfy a majority of the remainder? And for those who are still not satisfied after that, then what?
You see what I mean? I often hear people say, "He could make this go away so easily," but it is so not true.
I just love these nutjobs. They show the world what crazy lunatics there are on the far right.
Look, for those of us outside the asylum, this just doesn't matter. Obama is the President. He will be the President for the next for, and hopefully eight, years. These wingnuts can never be satisfied. If you could build a time machine and take them back to Hawaii to witness his live birth, they still would;t buy it. So why try to use logic, facts, or the truth to counter their silly nonsense? Let them rave. It will make no difference. They are just a laughingstock, a comic diversion, a bunch of nuts.
Sadly, actual elected officials are checking into this madhouse, and our courts must spend some (probably minimal) amount of time throwing out these frivilous lawsuits. Hopefully the judges will start charging the nutjobs court costs. The idea that a bunch of crazies can start an internet rumor, then go to cour to make someone DISPROVE it, is simply mind boggling.
But, in the end, Obama is and will continue to be, the legally and freely elected President of the United States.

Why do you defend resisting such a simple and important request as PROVE you are constitutionally eligible to be POTUS? I'll tell you why, because you will look like the fools you are for buying his smooth talk where he says nothing. You don't care if he isn't eligible as long as your selfish, Constitution and wealth destroying agenda is advanced.

Obama would be crazy to go down that never-ending path. No matter how many times you say, "Just the Birth Certificate," it's simply not true, as your own words show.
I'm pretty sure TennRod is right here. If Obama went about doing all you demand, you guys will be back to asking that he prove he isn't muslim, or a friend of terrorists, or a mob hitman in the witness protection program.
Besides, a conspiracy involving proper paperwork isn't very intriguing. Remember when people thought Hillary Clinton had Vince Foster whacked? That was a good conspiracy. You guys should think up something cool like that.

Fact: The the serial number of the pistol that was "found" at the scene was searched THREE TIMES in the six months prior to Foster's death.
Fact: The body showed no blood pooling around the body in its original position. Only when the body was moved up the hill (against standard procedures), head down, did blood begin to flow out the wound. New photographs were taken there as if it were the original crime scene.
Fact: Paramedics saw (and photographs of the crime scene show) a neck wound. The official report suppresses these photos and makes the claim that Foster shot himself through the mouth.
Fact: The person who found Foster's body said there was no gun. When repeatedly questioned he said there MIGHT have been a gun and suddenly there was a gun and all references to his previous story were erased.
Fact: There was a witness (Patrick Knowlton) to the fact that it was NOT Foster’s gray Honda that was in the parking lot at the time of the alleged suicide, but rather another different colored, older Honda.
Fact: Hillary's people secured, locked and cleaned out Foster's office in the hours after Foster's death and before the police went in.
Fact: Foster's shoes showed no sign of dust even though it he supposedly walked several hundred yards down a path where it had not rained in weeks.
Fact: Both paramedics were subjected to intense interrogation by the FBI, in the attempt to get them to change their story about the wound, the gun and the position of the body. One paramedic stuck with his original conclusions despite FBI attempts to “shake him.” The FBI succeeded in confusing the other paramedic by continually writing down his testimony in a way that distorted his original meaning.
Fact: The FBI altered Patrick Knowlton’s witness statement so that the Knowlton’s description of the vehicle in the parking lot matched Foster’s Honda. When Knowlton discovered the error, he demanded the record be corrected. The government refused and Knowlton sued in court. Plain clothes government agents began a harassment and threat campaign against Knowlton wherever he went in public. Later, Knowlton identified one of these harassing agents as an FBI agent on Ken Starr’s staff at the Independent Counsel’s office.
Fact: Independent Counsels Robert Fiske and Kenneth Starr falsely claimed that a quantity of blood was observed where the body was first discovered. In fact, as mentioned above, the blood only appeared after the body was moved—a fact these counsels wanted suppressed.
Fact: Fiske and Starr also allowed false testimony that a rescue worker, early on the scene, had moved Foster's head to check for a pulse. This false story was planted to help explain away certain contradictions between the statements of paramedics and Park Police (who were partially involved in the cover-up).
Fact: Crime scene photos of the body in its original position when discovered were allowed to disappear. As in the JFK assassination cover-up, the photos later presented as evidence were of the body after it had been moved and its position altered to mask the neck wound.
Fact: The White House and others knew of the Foster death even before the body was discovered at Marcy Park and 911 was called.
Fact: The Foster suicide note was forged and was planted in his office after White House officials invaded the office, searched it and removed all incriminating documents.
