Most lawmakers can't make up their minds about wine in grocery stores, meaning they probably won't vote this session. ... A guy named Gobble is running for Congress, as Robin Smith, Bo Watson and Gerald McCormick think about it. But who says Zach Wamp won't run for his seat again? Democratic Party chair Chip Forrester: "I think the congressman would rethink his strong commitment to not run again, I'd say in the winter of 2010, if his prospects for governor continue to dwindle." ... AT&T seeks regulatory relief from lawmakers--an end to virtually all state oversight of its basic phone business. ... Scaling back Thirsty Thursdays! They can't do that, can they?... Bob Corker says cap-and-trade equals tax increase. ... Jim Cooper touts his favorite health reform plan. ... Time magazine says Cooper's plan is a long shot. ... It's Sunshine Week, and here legislators are moving to close gun records. "This is nothing more than a power play by newly powerful Republicans," the Jackson Sun says.
