The second tragedy will come if Lisa doesn't show up in good health soon. (We'll pause while you say the rosary for her safety.) Judging from the picture, she's a very pretty white woman. Her ex-fiance is a Shelby County deputy. Which means this case has all the makings of Nancy Grace marathon, complete with untold hype and nightly expert speculation. Bonus round: Repeat appearances by Geraldo in Tennessee.Co-workers of Lisa Renee Davis called authorities Sunday when she didn't show up to her job at the Bumpus Harley Davidson motorcycle dealership, Bartlett Police said in a news release.
When investigators arrived at the Bartlett, Tenn., residence Davis owned with her ex-fiance at about 12:30 p.m., they saw blood near the front door. The woman's car was still there, and her keys, purse and cell phone were discovered inside.
Davis was last seen the previous evening when friends dropped her off about 2 a.m. after a night out.

You know, I'm with you on Fox News, Nancy Grace and Geraldo.
But Jesus, dude. Watch the sarcasm when talking about real and tragic facts.
"(We'll pause while you say the rosary for her safety.)"
Media coverage aside, there's still a woman missing and possibly in danger/already met with danger. Maybe you could reserve your venom for those who take advantage of tragedy and not the tragedy itself.
If you know Pete, you know this: He was being very serious about saying the rosary. The Virgin Mary is not someone he wants to piss off.
Yes, Pete is often referred to here as our resident Catholic. (Don't believe me? See my Pith post on church bells yesterday.) There was no sarcasm to his rosary comment, guaranteed. And I also guarantee that he hopes she is found alive and well, as we all do.
I think his only point is that when people who aren't white and pretty disappear, it rarely becomes a big news story. Which is pretty much an inarguable fact.
FYI Lisa Davis, the pretty little white girl you mentioned, was murdered. You have a few days to come up with something witty to say about her funeral.
It was just too soon. Maybe after a couple of weeks and had an actual media circus erupted would it have been a good time to make your point about people's obsession with pretty people. It's a fair enough topic, it just seemed opportunistic.
The only reason they run 24 hour coverage of missing people when they are pretty is because we watch it. And the only reason we watch it is the same reason that they don't put fat people in toothpaste commercials.
News is just another form of entertainment for most people and will be as long as it is paid for by ad revenues. Until then there's always NPR and the BBC.
Just one of the pitfalls of blogging from the bleeding edge.
So,why would you say this girl is murdered? Looks like, according to Fox, she is still just listed as missing? and I agree with the 1st Joe, it did sound a bit sarcastic, even if it was with good intent, until we find out what happened to this poor girl...but it is pitiful that it has to be a pretty white person from the "right" side of the tracks for anyone in the media to care if they are missing or hurt...
