Hargrove Tennessee Republican Party Bucking the Bailout With Bumper Sticker

As much as I hate to say it, I have a hard time disagreeing with that reasoning. The bailout has sat about as well with me as a stomach-full of super-spicy Prince's hot chicken. But I also know that if we don't do anything about it, we're all fucked. That's my super-technical analysis of the state of the economy. Now here's the Tenn. Rep's take: Let the free market do its thing.
Suprised they said that? I'm not. But the bumper sticker above is kinda funny.

Confession is good for the soul. Would that more progressives would do the same.
Flautus, I don't know any "progressives" who are delighted with any bailout, from upside-down mortgage holders to upside-down banks to upside-down insurance mega-corporations. I feel sick every time I think about it.
But feel free to offer actual policy suggestions that constitute a conservative solution to this problem, paying special attention to the downstream effect that action or inaction would have on people and industries.
Otherwise, you're another frothing member of the "No" Party.

Emmett, it's not like I'm endorsing the Tennessee Republicans here, but I don't love spending our way out of a recession any more than anybody else.
So I guess it's the position of the other Tenn Rep that they don't want Republicans to buy tickets or make donations to the new fund drive.
Cool, I'll tell my friends to use the cash on our mortgages.
It's a weird thing. Does it mean that the Republican with it on his car is in default on his mortgage, and is being bailed out? Wow, I thought we bailed them out already, with no strings attached (remember the Paulson bailout)? And remember McCain's mortgage bailout proposal? The taxpayers would have taken the full loss for all bad mortgages, while the banks and borrowers would all have skated. Do the Republicans have Alzheimers?
You'll notice, though, that not a damn one of these Republicans said a fucking thing when Bush and the GOP ran up the deficit after inheriting a sound fiscal house from the Democrats.
You'll notice that the elected Republicans supported the TARP bailout of the bankers and then changed their minds when it came to the auto industry. Keep in mind that the auto industry actually PRODUCES something as a direct result of work, not wealth. This should show all of us what conservatives' values REALLY are.
You'll also notice that both Alan Greenspan, right-wing Sen. Lindsey Graham, and dozens of other conservative economists are in support of the basic concept of bank nationalization at this point.
You'll also notice that not a damn one of them is proposing any other solution other than NO. And you won't hear one, either, because there is no solution that fits their ideology other then more tax cuts for the people that have stolen all our money.
First, they were morally bankrupt. Now, they've brought the rest of us with them - at least on the bankrupt part.
No, just ADHD and really short memories. When you think about it, the bumper sticker doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Shouldn't it be, "Honk If I'm Paying Your Mortgage?"
Someone peed in DG's cornflakes and splashed in his/her eyes affecting reading ability so far as comprehension goes.
I did a double take on the bumper sticker and figured it was a clever and satirical re-wording by Pith. But found it on the GOP's website and it DOES say "Honk if you're paying my mortgage." And they're SELLING it as a fundraiser.
So, we're going to have all these Republicans driving around with a bumper sticking admitting they've defaulted on their Brentwood McMansions and are taking the stim... uh, bailout money to stay in them? ROFLMAO!!!

Get back to me when you can find somebody who can prove that any nation ever has spent it's way out of recession.
Because, currently, there is no one alive on the face of the earth capable of doing so.

The late President Ford was a brave American who spoke out against the baby drunk Bush war from the start. Would President Ford be happy to see the fat pig Rush Limbaugh leading the party?
