At GOP headquarters, the intrepid flack Bill Hobbs has studied the video of the infamous House session in which Jimmy Naifeh and the Democrats made laughingstocks out of the Republicans yet again, and Hobbs has determined ... drum roll please ... Kent Williams is "with a doubt" lying when he says Robin Smith called him the devil. Hobbs' email:

"Kent Williams' story is without a doubt a lie - one the media could have exposed as such by reviewing the video of the January 13 House floor session, which is available on the state's website. We have reviewed that video. Chairman Smith entered the floor only one time during the day and it is crystal clear from the video that she did not at any time approach the Speaker's podium and she did not have any contact with Rep. Williams.

"Even Rep. Jimmy Naifeh is reported in the media to have said he does not remember the incident Rep. Williams has described - and Naifeh and Williams were practically attached at the hip that day. Kent Williams is lying. Again."

Lemme see if I've got this.
"But Naifeh said he doesn’t recall the word “devil” being used."
Smith: ""I just mouthed the words, 'It's hard to kill the devil.'"
Williams (paraphrase): She called me the devil.
Hobbs and Smith: Williams is lying.
So Naifeh denies hearing the word, not the incident. But Smith herself admits the phrase was said. So if Naifeh's comment is proof that Williams is lying, then why did Robin Smith admit to something she didn't do? Answer: Smith and Hobbs are the ones lying. It may be that, in Hobbs' words, Naifeh and Williams being "attached the the hip that day" Williams was unclear which person was being called the devil. That's not lying.
Why is this state GOP, who has every political trend on their side, screwing this thing up so royally?

Let's see - last time I spoke with anyone at the State Rep. Headquarters - they were the ones who had the problem getting their facts straight. Seems they are having that problem again today. They must remember that Robin Smith is the one who admitted she said those things, although she denies she remark about the devil was aimed at Williams. She said it was aimed at Naifeh. It would be understandable that if she DID aim it at Naifeh that in all the confusion, Speaker Williams may have thought it was meant for him, since she had already leveled other remarks at him. Who cares whether she took a few steps forward or stayed where she was? SHE admitted saying those things and it was not a very "leader-like" thing to do. Do they just make up their own reality as they go?

Very nice writing, Thank You! Just discovered this interesting quote and like to share - "Be yourself. Above all, let who you are, what you are, what you believe, shine through every sentence you write, every piece you finish." I wish you a life full of smiles and happiness!
