So, the Super Bowl. Didya watch? Of course you did. Everyone watched. Unless you're some kind of weirdo who only likes soft furry things. In which case...
Puppy Bowl!
Yesterday, the Yinzers in Western Pennsylvania Terrible Towel'ed themselves into a frenzy celebrating their Steelers' record-breaking sixth Super Bowl win. This after they spent a week debating whether or not to actually have a parade, on account of the...depression (such a bummer of a word when all you want is a solid excuse to crack open a Yeungling before sunrise).
Oh, but Remember the Titans? They were the best team in the league and so, technically, we should all feel safe asking what would have happened if they'd been the big winners.
Would SoBro have been Confetti Central? Would Kerry and Big Al and Vince (with his clipboard) have been waving to us from on high a Beaman Chevrolet? Or would the worrywarts too concerned with fiscal responsibility have forced us to stay inside and be all private with our Lombardi Love?
According to Metro Director of Special Events Marilyn Edwards, the answer is no. Had the Titans made the Super Bowl, and won, Nashville would've partied like it was 1999 (Music City Miracle!). Probably.
Edwards says that the idea for a Titans' Super Bowl parade had already been discussed in a few meetings. The plan was to use the normal parade route starting out at Sommet and ending at the Coliseum. They just hadn't spoken to the Titans' people yet. Something about being too superstitious.
Edwards was planning on doing that directly after the Ravens game. But we know how that turned out.

No fair. We could've been the ones videotaping a professional athlete videotaping us.
