Not long ago, in
a post about the Nashville Symphony's 2009-10 season, we said we'd like to see the NSO display the same reach and spirit of adventure in its jazz series that it showed in its classical programming. That said, you're not going to hear us complain about today's announcement of upcoming Nashville dates for Diana Krall and Stanley Clarke.
Krall plays a special summer date at the Schermerhorn 7 p.m. July 12, with tickets going on sale to the public Monday, Feb. 9, either by visiting the
NSO website or calling 687-6401. She'll be supporting her new album
Quiet Nights, coming Mar. 31. Bass master Clarke is still more than a year away, appearing Apr. 9, 2010 downtown as the third and final offering (after Al Jarreau and Branford Marsalis) in the NSO's 2009-10 jazz series. Tickets for the full series are already on sale.
