Students are holding a mock funeral for Tennessee's universities to protest budget cuts during the governor's "State of the State" speech next week. "[We're doing this] because cuts to higher education of this severity are bleeding our universities and colleges to death," says Ashley Renner, an MTSU senior and organizer of Coalition to Save Our Schools. At MTSU, they're having trouble keeping the offices clean. At TSU, they're removing the tuition cap. "Honestly, I can't see TSU keeping their doors open if tuition is increased," says TSU junior Danny Glover.
