Obama Swiftly Becoming the Chamber of Commerce's Public Enemy No. 1

This won't come as good news to Chamber of Commerce types, but President Barack Obama is quickly providing payback for the support of organized labor.

Today he issued an executive order that precludes federal contractors from being reimbursed for hiring union-busting consulting firms. That's right: Under an executive order from President Bush, you actually picked up the tab to have your neighbor's union drive crushed.

For years Bush encouraged the rather insidious practice of crushing union drives through spying and coercion. When we last talked to Doug Collier, president of Service Employees Local 205 in Nashville, he lamented how these consultants followed workers home, threatened them with job loss if they organized, and fired leaders of the drives. Think of them as a company's personal KGB, only without the Russian accents.

But for the first time since Kennedy, a labor state Democrat sits in the Oval Office. At least on the workplace front, change is indeed coming.

The change that is coming is Obamunism - our very own socialism - you people who voted for him will pay with your enslaved futures and lowered standard of living for years to come.

IF Obama Fails, WHO will get us OUT OF THIS HOLE WE ARE IN?

Ken, 'tis a question about who serves the economy best: Business or government. I would submit that 'Fannie' and 'Freddie' failed in their assignments because of the same thing that afflicted 'Brownie' in the Katrina disaster. "W" patted him on the back, annoncing "you're doing a tremendous job Brownie," or something like that. Right. 'Brownie' was just primping himself the whole time. And so were the top level people in 'Fannie' and 'Freddie'. Woops.
If 'Brownie' worked for a for-profit corporation I'll just bet his primping would have been curtailed substantially. In business, when you are responsible for a red bottom line your ass is on the line. And the recompense is not long coming.
And addressing the "HOLE" thing Ken. Just what kind of 'hole' are we in. All right, some over priced real estate has to face up to reality. Maybe well paid jobs are a bit more scarce. But if you want to make money, only your imagination limits you. And if there is a short-fall, there's always food stamps. After all, human needs require shelter and food. Everything else is extra.

I haven’t read all the comments, so perhaps this has already been remarked upon, however, does it not strike anyone as surprising that Tiger, worth a shitload of money and who is arguably the most recognizable athlete in the world, would drive around in a vehicle that did not have bullet proof glass? (or in this case, 3 iron proof)
