apparently PJ Tobias doesn't care that American citizens, how happen to be black and brown as well as white, have been discriminated against when seeking employment, by the illegal aliens Tobias wants us to feel sorry for. This democrat actually reports employers of illegals, and have friends who are doing so as well.
The illegals can get jobs in their home countries, the jobs here are for citizens, who are the only ones who have civil rights. Get over it. Tobias is the same sort who rationalized slavery.
Immigration laws were created to protect working poor citizens from having their wages undermined by corrupt employers and foreign interests. Apparently Tobias doesn't believe that poor citizens should have any rights or protections?
I'm going to Corky's for lunch today to show them support for standing up for America and for abiding by the law. They deserve to have a lot of us there.
Jenny, how can you be so sure that the people you are reporting are actually illegal? Is it the fact that they are Latino and don't speak English well or do you have inside information?
In any case, I harken back to an "Ask A Mexican" column published in the Scene about a year ago. For a satirical column, which Ask a Mexican is, this is the most intelligent answer I have seen from either side:
"Dear Mexican: Why is it that Mexicans accept lower salaries than their legal or American counterparts? Example: One contractor in Columbus, Ga., told my son that he could hire 20 Mexicans for the same price he would have to pay my son! I know this is a racist comment, but it does seem that someone accepting $6 an hour—compared to an American, who usually gets double the money illegals accept—is always going to come up short. Is this practice used to force legals and Americans out of the job market? I sincerely think that if everyone asks for the same pay, there would not be this problem with immigration.

Why are you carrying water for the slave masters? Yes, I know, slavery is a Democrat thing but I keep hoping that it will die out. Unfortunately, it seems that today's Dems like their slaves BROWN instead of BLACK(so do some of the Repubs).
Swing by Hillsboro Village at closing time. Who is cleaning two restaurants owned by a guy with the initials RR? Yup, illegal immigrants. Ask them, they will tell you their status(I have, and they did). Who is bussing tables at the Capital Grill? Call most drywall, paint, or gutter companies in Nashville. Ask them when they can get started. Then tell them they must have documented workers on your job. See what happens to that start date.
Illegal aliens have gutted Nashville's black community. Yeah, they have hurt most working class Americans but the black community has born the brunt of their attack in Nashville. Service industry, hospitality, cooking, cleaning, janitorial, and landscaping jobs used to be great entry level jobs that the black community could count on in Nashville. No longer. Now they are dominated by illegals.
Why? Because illegal aliens usually don't speak much english, they live in constant fear of deportation, and they don't ask for things like human rights and fair pay. If one gets too "uppity" you can fire him and get three more on Gallitan Road.
Heck, at least slaves were supposed to get food, housing, clothing, and medical care. Illegals are used as commodities. One dies in a blasting accident(that he wasn't trained to be doing)? Too bad, get another one. Collapse a trench and kill a few brown people(because you were not following OSHA procedures)? Oh well, pay they fine and get some more Jose's. I personally know a contractor that took an injured day laborer and just dropped him at the Emergency Room. He made no effort to pay the bill or help the illegal alien who had suffered a career ending injury. He picked up a new load of workers the next day. Business as usual.
At least old and injured slaves could count on a job by the fire carding cotton. What is Spanish for, "Yessu, massu?" , Tobias?
Take a listen to Mike Rowe on jobs that some American's consider distasteful. He recognizes the need for good, solid American workers.

Tough, manual labor jobs are valuable. Americans like to work. The downward wage pressure caused by millions of illegal workers have created jobs that Americans don't want to do. American's expect to live in a house with running water. American's don't want to live in a single family dwelling with 15 other guys. American's expect safe working conditions. American's expect a fair wage for a hard days work.
Illegal aliens don't.
The intelligentsia in our society don't value skilled manual labor. Those jobs are for illegal aliens. Americans are supposed to build cars, computers, and aircraft. But that is a lie. We will always need skilled manual labor.
In this time of national challenge, we need those millions of jobs that "American's won't do(for a slave labor wage)." I praise Corky's for putting American's back to work. I will be joining them in an hour for lunch.
Illegal aliens are criminals and parasites, one and all. Their very presence here and practically everything they do on U. S. soil is illegal. They need to be ferreted out, rounded up like cattle, punished for their numerous crimes, then booted back to whence they snuck in from with such extreme prejudice that they will never, ever think of violating our sovereignty again. Enough is enough.

GOOD. Those nice people were in the country illegally. Hello!?! It would be nice if the Nashville Scene Blog would care a little bit about the fact that those jobs should be going to Americans and LEGAL immigrants. We let nearly 1 million people in the country legally every year. And with unemployment rates expected to grow beyond 10% this year, we should be putting American workers first.
There's nothing "weird" about a website where Americans are fighting to take back their country and protect their communities and jobs.

U.S. Code Title 8 states that it is a felony to aid and abet illegal aliens. That includes hiring them. Want to help the 11 million Americans out of work?
