WTF? Robin Smith Decries Mudslinging

Posted by Jeff Woods on Wed, Jan 28, 2009 at 8:03 AM

Too bad our "Whopper of the Month" nominations have closed, because GOP chair Robin Smith just unleashed a load of it in an interview with Tom Humphrey. This will probably inspire a "Whopper of the Month" write-in campaign. Responding to new Democratic Party chair Chip Forrester's denunciation Saturday of the GOP's "racist smear tactics," Smith says, "We'll let him play in the mud all by himself. You don't get into a wrestling match with a pig.  That's the only one who's going to enjoy the mud."

She says Forrester's "bellicose" comments are unfounded and amount to "throwing red meat to his base." Pot, meet Kettle. Smith also praises outgoing Democratic Party chair Gray Sasser. She says she had a "kind relationship" with Sasser, disagreeing on policy but never engaging in "personal attacks." Sasser's probably slitting his wrists right about now.

Forrester had some big talk for the chairman of a broke party whose fundraisers he ran off. He said he was going to respond to every attack but he hasn't said anything about being for an income tax. Guess there's not much he can say. He's for it and it's unconstitutional.

If he's for it, he's right.
