Pepsi Backs Gay Agenda, Workplaces Expected to Look Nicer

The American Family Association has declared a jihad against Pepsi for its help in supporting the gay agenda. Though we're not quite sure what that is, it sounds really bad.

In a personal letter sent to Scene -- it was addressed to "Dear ##FirstName[Friend]##" -- the Tupelo, Mississippi group says Pepsi donated "$500,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and $500,000 to the Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The $1,000,000 was to be used to help promote homosexuality in the workplace."

High level sources believe this will lead to a rash of really tidy cubicles and much better planning for office parties.

But the bigger problem -- at least to the Family Association -- is that "Pepsi refuses to give money to any pro-family organization that opposes the homosexual agenda. Plus, every homosexual organization we know of is overwhelmingly pro-abortion."

Yet when the Family Association wrote in protest to the company, all it received was a "condescending letter." (Full text after the jump.)

Obligatory Warning to Readers: If you detect an alarming rise in decorative sconces at your workplace, go immediately to the nearest exit. The gay agenda has arrived.

Letter to PepsiCo Chairman Indra K. Nooyi from Donald E. Wildmon (October 14, 2008):

Recently we noticed that PepsiCo gave a $500,000 donation to Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.  We were indeed surprised by PepsiCo's support of the homosexual group.  It would appear to us that PepsiCo would not involve itself in a political and culture war, especially supporting an organization seeking to redefine marriage and family.

We ask PepsiCo to remain neutral in this culture war, neither supporting nor opposing the homosexual agenda.

We would like to discuss this matter with PepsiCo.  Would you have a representative of PepsiCo contact us?

Response from Paul Boykas, director, public policy to Donald  E. Wildmon (November 18, 2008):

I'm responding to your letter to our Chairman. In 2008, the PepsiCo Foundation awarded a grant to Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays to support a national program specifically designed for workplace environments.

The initiative seeks to promote further understanding and equality in the places where people spend much of their time at work.

Among the values promoted by the PepsiCo Foundation is ensuring a work environment that is respectful and where associates are valued for their contributions.  I hope this helps  clarify this grant by the PepsiCo Foundation.

I was hoping to get the go-ahead from my commanding officer before I was discovered. My role in the Gay Agenda was to organize Jim Ridley's office and clean your coffee maker. But now it's too late!

These are the same people who are suing to have donors who gave in favor of California's Prop 8 removed from public records because their buisinesses were being boycotted. What hypocrites!

I will boycott Pepsi now and have others at my 1,000 member church do the same.

Put 300 others on the boycott. My church family says we will not buy any product from any company that we know is support either the gay agenda or abortion because we don't want any of our funds going to support these agendas.

Promote homosexuality in the workplace? why? You've gone weird on us, Pepsi. I like Pepsi, but no more for me.
