Victim Alert! Chris Johnson Does His Terrell Owens Impression

Aside from being really good, the wonderful thing about the Titans is that they're eminently rootable. An old-school, pound-it-out offense. A defense that could go toe-to-toe with Hamas. An aging quarterback resurrected for one last hurrah. And best of all: No assholes. (Feel free to debate below whether Vince Young defies this last assertion.)

So it was a tad troubling to hear halfback Chris Johnson whine last week about losing out on the Offensive Rookie of the Year vote. Though Johnson had a spectacular season, the award rightfully went to Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan, who turned around the pitiful Falcons and played the NFL's toughest position as if he already had a decade on the job. The vote wasn't even close: Ryan 44, Johnson 3.

Despite the landslide, Johnson still called the ruling "bogus," noting that he won more Pro Bowl votes. (Does someone have an incentive clause in his contract?) In the realm of athletic victimhood, we'll score it a very modest three. But it was still off-putting to hear Johnson violate the Titans' season-long whine-free zone.

If you watch football, no doubt you've been bombarded by the serial victim fest known as the Dallas Cowboys. There are few things more painful than listening to millionaires whine about how bad they have it. The Titans, however, have been the perfect antidote--and it shows in their record. Let's hope Johnson understands this. Or we could just trade him to Dallas.
