The reaction to the Iraqi shoe-toss incident is about the best encapsulation of the current American mood I can think of. A foreign journalist flings two Florsheims at the head of the man we elected (twice!) to be our leader and collectively the country says "meh."
To make myself feel better, I just spent the last 15 minutes watching this video on a continuous loop. At a time when morale feels low, it's a nice reminder that, in the end, EVERYONE WANTS TO BE US. Including the guys who throw shoes.
