What about this fellow who ran for state representative, Dr. Rishi Saxena? I’m not sure where he’s from but I’m pretty sure it’s not Rutherford County. From what I read about him he has some very good ideas. My advice to him would be to work on perfecting his southern accent. I’m not talking about southern Bangladesh either. And if he can’t sound southern, he could at least throw in a few y’alls and a couple fixin’ to’s every once in a while.Thanks, Stephen, for setting Middle Tennessee's reputation back about 50 years!

Update: Within the past hour or so, editor/publisher of the Post, Michael Pirtle added a lengthy (and, to me, half-hearted) apology to this column.
He tries to push the humor column aspect of it to absorb some of the offense, but I think you can only make that defense if it was actually funny and not a poor attempt at racially tinged Andy Rooneying.

Movies depict white people as stupid and uncordinated often when in fact we have led this so called country in many of its bigest innovations and achievements. Also look at black folks on news programs.For instance, anytime Jesse Jackson or al sharpton is allowed to speak for whatever reason white people are demonized either directly or in round about ways. Many black activists and speakers will come on to news networks and deliver speeches about how white people are racist or how we owe them repremendations. (where are your reps from germany for the hollocost? or how about christians from rome for the lion feedings? or people in general from the catholics for the inquisition? or the relatives of the salem witches?) I mean come on? Another thing, the belle meade country club has come under scruitiny for having white members be the majority (all but 1 or whatever) well big damn deal! Its a private club, therefore its none of anyones damn business if P Diddy isn't a member. Again if i made an organization devoted to the rights and needs of white people and made programs that only benifited them (such as NAACP) oh God i can see the headlines now, modern kkk taking aplications,racist organization to be boycotted by thousands. See often it is forgot the white man came here stole the land and made it what it is today (not sure if thats a good thing but...) we also being in control of the government have granted the rights to vote to women, blacks, and all minorities not to mention affirmitive action and other programs we let pass. Now if we were such bad people and so racist in our past 50 years dont you think we could have pulled a tienimans (sp) square and mowed over the civil rights people? sure could have, we could be just as ruthless as other countries and make a full out majority rule. After all we fought the british and eventually each other to make this our home, when have any minorities fought here with that much blood? Never, civil rights movements have been fought with fists and words, and minor blood shed like political figures. Never have any of you fought with bullets like we have (minus the FEW that did fight the civil war) Now dont anyone go telling me how black folks fight for our freedom these days because that is nothing even close compared to the revolution and the civil war. Those wars were truely about freedom, todays wars are all politics including the world wars.
