A Republican Plot to Bury Sarah Palin?

Posted by Pete Kotz on Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 2:27 PM

We already knew that Sarah Palin isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but this report from Fox indicates she's scary dumb -- like not even knowing that Africa is a continent dumb. Maybe it's just the blame game that takes place when any campaign loses. But the fact that it's airing on Fox -- the propaganda arm of the GOP -- makes it all the weirder. For a network that rarely strays from Republican talking points, it seems like the party hierarchy has turned on its sweetheart. Is this simply a plot by McCain staffers to cast the blame? Or is there now a concerted effort by Republicans to bury her now, before she buries them again in 2012?

Yeah my bullshit meter went off big-time when I heard this--especially coming from FOX News, of all places. I mean, you know you can't rely on anything you see on Fox News.
I have no doubt Sarah Palin isn't the brightest politician in the GOP but she certainly isn't this dumb.
I just have to wonder, considering Fox's audience of true believers and Kool-Aid drinkers, if the heads have been popping in wingnuttia over this report.

Okay-so now the talking heads who were singing her praises are trying to save face because if they continue to back her, they won't have jobs much longer. It's pretty much common knowledge (among those who operate on a junior high school education or above), that this woman was TOTALLY unqualified for this job ( and most jobs in corporate America-even middle management just about anywhere else!)Why would we feel the need to tutor her in basic government? She's a freakin' governor!!! What the hell kind of Mickey Mouse operation are they running in Alaska?
The hubris this woman has exhibited is staggering! Does the GOP REALLY think this woman could be ready for ANYTHING other than the office to which she somehow was elected? Insulting. If this is the best they have to offer, if this is their shining star, they are in worse shape than anyone could imagine.

Despite having voted for Obama, I have to admit to being skeptical that Sarah Palin is quite this ignorant. I suspect that the GOP is trying to place the blame for having lost the election on Palin.
An interesting comparison: the entire population of the state of Alaska is only about 10% more than the population of Nashville.

Taken in the following context, this ignorance is not so unbelievable, and Sarah Palin is not so unusual.

Campbell Brown is spot-on with this Palin pilin' commentary:
"To those top McCain advisors who leaked the little story about seeing Sarah Palin in a towel. To those who called her and her family “Wasilla Hillbillies” while using her to stoke class warfare with redmeat speeches and an anti-elitist message. To those who claim she didn’t know Africa was a continent. To those McCain aides who say she is the reason they lost this election… can I please remind you of one thing: you picked her.
"You are the ones who supposedly vetted her, and then told the American people she was qualified for the job. You are the ones who after meeting her a couple of times, told us she was ready to be just one heartbeat away from the Presidency. If even half of what you say NOW is true, then boy, did you try to sell the American people a bill of goods."
A perfect indictment of the Republican Party, and a perfect reminder of why they cannot be trusted near the reins of power ever again.

You got to admit that they have some great one liners about it though:
"What most Americans I think realize is that you don't offer a job, let alone the vice presidency, to a person after one job interview. "Even at McDonalds you're interviewed three times before you're given a job."

Remember folks, some of the aides were Romney aides before they were McCain aides.

Let's see . . . Barack Obama has talked about "fifty, uh, seven states," Joe Biden has informed us that President Roosevelt talked to the nation on TV on 1929, and Nancy Pelosi has said that 500 million Americans are losing their jobs every month. And yet you believe that an anonymous rumor that Sarah Palin is a dunce is believable.

You and this entire site is full of nothing but morons. You voted this socialistic idiot in to party and you're going to get exactly what you voted for. I sure hope you enjoy poverty and the stupidity that is you.

Interesting that it ended up that the source of this report, an supposed aide of McCain's, was not an aide, never met Palin and made up the whole thing.
I am surprised the Fox reporter bit the bait. Sarah Palin admitted she is not a "sound bite" politician. The news is finally reporting that Pres. Obama isn't either...unless he has a tele-prompter.
Sarah had to play a part in a support role. Coupled with all the photoshop creations and fictitious reporting as hard news she will have a lot of work to show the country who the true Sarah Palin is.

obama gave the wrong speech and thanked himself using his handy dandy teleprompter. All this in front of Ireland's prez. Now thats a genius for you.
What an idiot. Of course he does love himself so it would only be natural for him to thank himself and not think anything of it.
