In This Corner: The oft-derided mall security guard
We here at Pith don't like to take sides. Especially when it's obvious we don't have the full story. But wild speculation is precisely what the internet was created for, so we're going to give you an opportunity to do what we can't. Here's the story:
reader Bevin and a friend went to Opry Mills Mall on Saturday. When they entered Victoria's Secret some combination of fluorescent lights and underwire caused Bevin to have an epileptic seizure. After being attended to by friendly staff, Bevin and the friend left to get something to eat.
Shortly thereafter, she and her friend claim they were harassed by mall security in progressively more ridiculous conveyances.
First came the mall cop on the Segueway. He told Bevin she'd caused a disturbance and needed to leave the mall immediately. Then, minutes later, another mall cop pulled up, this time on a miniature John Deere tractor with a Metro police officer in tow, whereupon they had a repeat of the first conversation, only this time peppered with a few expletives.
Opry Mills security acknowledges the incident but refuses to give any details. But Bevin and her friend offered their story to a select group of friends on a 420
So waddya say? Are the cops at Opry Mills a little too hyper-vigilant? Or did the kids do something they're not telling us?
