It's not enough for Phil Bredesen to tell the media that Obama can't win Tennessee, which the governor has done repeatedly. Now, Bredesen has told Obama himself to stay out of our state, then the governor told the media what he said to Obama. As WPLN reports
, Bredesen says:
“ We’ve got a lot of people who love him here and who are working hard for him, but I’m not sure this is where I’d advise him to spend his time when you’ve got an Ohio which has got a swing state in this election right close by here.”
Bredesen makes his comments even as Obama's campaign names
a statewide director, brings in paid staff and talks about opening offices in Tennessee. Unlike the governor, Obama seems to care about down-ballot races in our state. Those candidates appreciate it if their presidential nominee at least pretends he's trying to win votes here.
At some point soon, we should make a list of stupid things Bredesen has said and hold a contest to name the dumbest. Wouldn't that be fun?
