GOP Grandstander Strikes Again

Posted by Jeff Woods on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 3:01 PM

Bill Hobbs has just gotten what he wanted from his latest crude anti-Obama YouTube video: A little national pub. Politico's Jonathan Martin, calling the GOP grandstander "something of an online provocateur," observes that Hobbs is "making a name for himself beyond that of a typical state party spokesman by attacking Obama on issues — his middle name, wife and Wright — that many conservatives seize upon but that are officially verboten among McCain's campaign and the GOP." As we have pointed out here in the past, there's a reason the McCain campaign and the GOP don't go where Hobbs goes. It's stupid politics, since it turns off the swing voters who decide elections. To Politico, Hobbs denies the purpose of his little video is to connect Obama to a corrupt black politician.
"We categorically reject the suggestion — the Web ad focuses on yet another example of Obama’s lousy character judgment, a growing list of examples that includes folks like the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, the race-baiting Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the other race-baiting preacher, Father Phleger; and the corrupt real-estate wheeler-dealer, Tony Rezko," Hobbs said.
Interesting that Hobbs keeps referring to race baiters when that's exactly what he is himself. Maybe he's projecting.

I don't view this ad as race baiting. When any politician slaps someone on the back and praises them despite them being mired in the kind of scandal(S) in which Kwame Kilpatrick has placed himself, including asault, that's pretty disgraceful.
It does raise a very important question about Obama's character that as a supporter I hate to have no answer for. Obama not only chose to stand with disgraced politician Kwame Kilpatrick, but also praises him as a leader. Help me figure out why I should not have a problem with that.
Can't we use a little common sense when measuring Obama's actions instead of assuming anyone challenging his association with scumbags is a racist? Scumbaggery knows no color.

"important question about Obama's character that as a supporter I hate to have no answer for."
Oh please. Ancient shittohead trick. You'd be more believable trying the "these aren't the droids you're looking for" routine.
