Operation Chaos Takes Down Davis

Posted by on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 12:33 PM

This is rich. Congressman David Davis is getting ready to challenge his 486-vote loss to Johnson City Mayor Phil Roe in last week's Republican primary, saying crossover Democrats caused his defeat. Davis says:
There were a lot of Democrats voting in the primary. Tennessee law prohibits crossover vote unless you intend to have loyalty to that party.
So what are we going to do? Ask voters to take loyalty oaths before they're allowed to cast ballots? And since when does the GOP object to crossing over? I seem to recall Republicans, led by Rush Limbaugh and his Operation Chaos, taking great glee in voting in the presidential primary contests to mess with Democrats.
