A Sign of the End Times?

Posted By on Mon, Jun 2, 2008 at 9:44 AM

It's not every day that a flack winds up on the front page of the daily newspaper—and that's a very good thing—but Bill Hobbs, who has been fomenting controversies for the state Republican party for months now, certainly deserves his 15 inches of fame today in The Tennessean. From his video last month introducing Michelle Obama to Tennessee to that February press release making a pointed referenced to a Barack Hussein Obama, Hobbs knows how to garner media attention, even if a lot of it is blistering. Still, my guess is that Hobbs keeps the party's right-wing base riled up and engaged, which is no small accomplishment at a time when Republicans are suddenly vulnerable throughout the South.
