Tuke Raises a Little Bit of Money

Posted by Jeff Woods on Tue, Apr 15, 2008 at 10:41 AM

From the sound of the campaign's latest email, Bob Tuke is bristling with pride because he's raised $264,000 in the first 27 days of his Senate bid. At that rate, he'll raise around $700,000 for the campaign. That's about one-tenth of what he'd need to have any chance to unseat Lamar Alexander. Here's the latest lie from Tuke campaign manager Ben Chao: "I wanted to take a moment to update you on the progress our campaign is making. Everywhere we go in Tennessee—from Memphis to Mountain City—Bob's message is gaining momentum and the prospect of unseating Lamar Alexander is getting more and more real."

If all this foul verbiage against Tuke is because he will not talk to you, do you really think you are going to change his mind by going at this way? I mean, how is it working for you so for? Grow up Scene writers. In many places in Davidson Co, its a positive that the Scene isn't for you and outside Davidson Co they don't know what the Scene is.

I'm sure Tuke would talk to the Scene if he felt it would suit his purposes. I couldn't care less. I'm merely stating the facts about his campaign. Do you think we should take Tuke seriously?

You mean a campaign manager is actually saying his candidate has a real chance to win, even if that might not actually be so? Shocking! What has politics come to? Oh, the humanity!
And if every time you guys write about Tuke you don't mention what kind of car he drives, some readers might forget. You wouldn't want that.
For a candidate you apparently don't take seriously, you sure write about him a lot. Wonder why that is.

Because we've got nothing better to do?

That's probably not it (not that you should be accused of telling a lie), but let's say it is. It's a big world out there - there are probably better things to do.

I don't think you should take any politicians seriously.
