On Tsunami Tuesday former President Bill Clinton called in to The Steve Gill Show to talk about Hillary, Obama and his new role as second fiddler. Have a listen:
The best moment comes near the end, when Gill recounts Ann Coulter's assertion that, should McCain win the nomination, she would not only vote for Hillary but campaign for her. Gill then asks Clinton whether, in such a scenario, we could expect to see him on the trail with Coulter. Bill demurs, but Gill can't keep his Freudian slip from showing: "Politics makes for strange bedfellows," he says brightly.
Come to think of it, maybe a Clinton-Coulter tryst is just what we need to put this whole culture war narrative to bed, so to speak, once and for all. Guess that depends on what your definition of "is" is.
