Hairdo Blues

Posted by Sarah Kelley on Tue, Jan 8, 2008 at 4:59 PM

Metro police are searching for a woman they say shot an acquaintance in a dispute over a hairdo. Nikeya Alston, 26, is wanted for aggravated assault in connection with the shooting of 25-year-old Tiffany Jackson. Police say Jackson arranged for her roommate to braid the suspect's hair, but when the 'do was finished Alston was dissatisfied with the outcome. The hairdresser refused to redo the braids, according to police, prompting Alston to go ballistic on Jackson for arranging the appointment in the first place. The next morning Jackson walked outside her apartment to find her tires had been slashed. Police say the irate suspect then showed up armed with a handgun and shot Jackson in the leg before fleeing. The victim is recovering from the gunshot wound the the leg, and police are asking anyone who might know Alston's whereabouts to call 862-7525.

(dramatically removes shades, looks thoughtful) What tangled webs we weave.

(looks down, gives world-weary half-smile) Hair today...gone tomorrow.

Perhaps Al Sharpton could be of some aid in the fugitive shooter search. Who knows, might be worth a try. Rev Al has after all become our national media's proper ethnic gadfly. Nashville might be wonderful place for him to pop up.
